Sub-Divisions offer a wide variety of experience and specialties in multiple areas of Law Enforcement. Currently, within the San Andreas State Troopers, there are six (6) Department subdivisions. Currently members can join up to three (3) department sub-division at the rank of Trooper First Class. At the rank of Lieutenant a Trooper can certify for all sub-divisions. Reserve Troopers may certify in one (1) subdivision at a time. Troopers may go to the San Andreas Law Enforcement Academy to get certified in a variety of certifications, this certifications may have additional uses within each subdivision.
The State Trooper Specialized Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) is a subdivision within the San Andreas State Trooper focused on the advanced enforcement of traffic laws to reduce traffic collisions, their resulting injuries, and to facilitate the safe and expedient flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Performing these duties results in safer roads, fewer fatalities and injuries, and reduces property damage. The STEP program concentrates its enforcement in the areas with the highest collision and speed violation rates within the state of San Andreas. These efforts, combined with the specialized training received, have proven to be effective in reducing the numbers of collisions and traffic incidents, as well as traffic infractions, within the State of San Andreas.
The Marine Division specializes in Maritime Law, Search and Rescue operations, as well as Dive tactics and can be anywhere in the state within a moments notice. The Marine Division works in conjunction with the Los Santos Police Department’s Port Authority, the United States Coast Guard, and the San Andreas Fire Rescue Marine Rescue team to ensure our waters remain safe and secure.
The Air Support Unit specializes in enforcing laws and being a force multiplier to ground units by way of operating a helicopter, and Air Plane. Within the Air Support Unit, members can also be trained and certified in Life Flight operations, where they can medevac critical patients from facility to facility, or even respond to a scene where the ground medical commander deems it necessary. Life Light is to be used when no SAFD Medevac personnel are available.
The Counter Terrorism Task Force Team makes up the tactical element of the San Andreas State Troopers, and takes a more tactical approach to high-risk incidents. The Special Response Team works in conjunction with other ground units to establish a presence which might make a subject realize he has no other option but to give up, and specializes in very high priority situations such as bank robberies, hostage situations, and active shooters to name a few.
The Department of Natural Resources (D.N.R.) is responsible for enforcing hunting and fishing laws within the state of San Andreas. They patrol the wilderness and Waterways of the state. These troopers are to have extensive knowledge on the laws of Boating, Hunting, and Fishing.
Crime Scene Investigations (C.S.I.) investigate high priority crimes (Robberies, Terrorism, ect.) that have taken place in San Andreas. As well as working with its sub section of Narcotics to investigate Drug Related Crimes. As an Investigator you will work alongside the LSPD detectives, and LSCSO Investigators to investigate crimes, and may be brought on to join operations to help catch culprits of Gang, and Drug related Crimes.
